Digitize

a personal project I've been working on lately has been digitizing old home movie VHS tapes from my parents and grandparents in the hopes of memory preservation. beyond the practical, I'm interested in how media moves from standard to new standard (I skipped over DVD & bluray). new technology provides visual clarity, high definition, and ease of access, but the loss filmic imperfections, intentional processes, and general charm weighs on my mind.
